Iran Warns Israeli Embassies Worldwide Could Become Targets if Beirut Mission Is Attacked

Iran has warned that Israeli embassies around the world could become potential targets if Israel attacks Iran’s diplomatic mission in Beirut, according to statements from a senior Iranian military spokesperson.

Brigadier General Abolfazl Shekarchi, spokesperson for Iran’s Armed Forces, said Wednesday that any Israeli strike on Iran’s embassy in Lebanon would trigger a direct response targeting Israeli diplomatic facilities globally.

“If Israel attacks Iran’s embassy, all of this regime’s embassies will become legitimate targets,” Shekarchi said, according to the semi-official Tasnim News Agency.

His comments came after reports that Israel had threatened possible military action against Iranian interests in Lebanon.

Iran Accuses Israel of Escalation

Shekarchi accused Israel of operating without limits in its military actions and warned that Tehran would respond if its diplomatic facilities were attacked.

He described a potential Israeli strike on Iran’s embassy in Beirut as a violation of international law and said such an attack would give Iran a “legitimate reason” to retaliate.

The Iranian official also argued that despite its military capabilities, Iran has so far acted with restraint and respected international legal norms.

Tehran Says It Has No Conflict With Other Nations

During his remarks, Shekarchi emphasized that Iran does not seek confrontation with most countries.

“Apart from the United States and Israel, the Islamic Republic of Iran has no conflict or hostility with other countries and maintains relations based on engagement,” he said.

However, he reiterated that Iran remains determined to confront Israel and its allies if its national interests or diplomatic facilities are threatened.

Rising Tensions in the Middle East

The warning comes as tensions between Iran and Israel continue to intensify following a series of military strikes and retaliatory actions across the region.

Iranian officials have repeatedly accused Israel and the United States of escalating the conflict, while Israel argues its actions are aimed at countering security threats posed by Iran and its regional allies.

Analysts say that targeting diplomatic missions could significantly escalate the conflict and raise fears of a wider international crisis, as embassies are protected under international law and considered sovereign territory.
