Former President Donald Trump sharply criticized Bad Bunny’s halftime performance during Super Bowl LX on Sunday, describing it as “one of the worst in history.”
The global superstar, originally from Puerto Rico and known for his chart-topping Spanish-language hits, delivered a show entirely in Spanish. The performance quickly sparked a reaction from Trump, who posted a lengthy statement on his Truth Social platform shortly after the event.
According to Trump, the halftime show “made no sense” and was “an affront to the greatness of America.” He also argued that the performance did not reflect the country’s standards for “success, creativity, or excellence.”
“Nobody understands a word this guy is saying, and the dancing is disgusting, especially for young children watching across the United States and around the world,” Trump wrote.
He added that the show felt like “a slap in the face to our country,” while also criticizing the NFL for its updated kickoff rule. Trump ended the message with his trademark slogan, “Make America Great Again!”
Bad Bunny — whose real name is Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio — performed only a week after winning a Grammy Award for Album of the Year for DeBÍ TiRAR MáS FOToS. The artist remained the most-streamed musician on Spotify in 2025 and has led the platform’s global “Wrapped” lists for four consecutive years.
Ahead of the big game, Turning Point USA announced an alternative halftime event for viewers who preferred not to watch Bad Bunny’s performance. Their “All-American Halftime Show” featured longtime Trump supporter Kid Rock and was promoted as a celebration of “American faith, family, and freedom.”
Super Bowl LX concluded with the Seattle Seahawks defeating the New England Patriots 29–13, securing this year’s championship title.
