The 2026 NFL free agency period continues to unfold as teams across the league work to finalize signings, trades, and roster upgrades. With the new league year officially underway, several major deals have already been completed, while many high-profile players remain available.
Day 4 of free agency is expected to bring another wave of activity as teams search for strategic additions and more affordable contracts to fill roster needs.
One of the biggest storylines currently centers around quarterback Kyler Murray, who is reportedly visiting the Minnesota Vikings. His decision could be one of the next major moves in the quarterback market.
This development follows a major deal announced earlier when quarterback Daniel Jones agreed to a two-year, $88 million contract to remain with the Indianapolis Colts after moving off the transition tag.
The edge rusher market has also shifted significantly following Trey Hendrickson’s agreement with the Baltimore Ravens. Hendrickson reportedly signed a four-year contract worth $112 million, removing one of the most valuable pass-rushing options from the market.
Meanwhile, the failed trade involving Maxx Crosby continues to affect teams looking to strengthen their defensive lines, as several franchises were hoping to acquire elite pass-rush help.
Some teams have already been particularly active during free agency. The Washington Commanders made several notable additions on Wednesday, signing players such as Chig Okonkwo, Nick Cross, K’Lavon Chaisson, and Charles Omenihu.
These moves suggest the Commanders are aggressively rebuilding their roster heading into the 2026 season.
Despite the early deals, many of the top-ranked free agents remain unsigned. More than a quarter of the top 100 players in analyst Pete Prisco’s rankings are still available, meaning the coming days could bring even more significant transactions.
As teams continue negotiations and evaluate their remaining needs, NFL fans can expect additional signings, trades, and roster changes as free agency progresses.
